Oh What Awaits!

Oh What Awaits
by David Brenneman

"Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God?" Mark 12:24.

"It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look." 1 Peter 1:12.

If you are not interested in looking at or learning from the Scriptures, how will you ever know the things of God?

My Dear Reader, it's not enough nor will it ever be enough, to just say you believe in God. That you believe in Jesus.

Jesus isn't handling out name tags when we acknowledge Him like at some event. Jesus said that He wants a personal relationship with you.

We can never know nor understand the things of God that even Angels long to look without our desire to know intact.

This world is going to throw everything at you and I to keep us from having the time and or the interest in seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness.

We need to make the time for our relationship with Jesus if indeed we love Him as we say that we do.

"but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.  But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.  But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.  For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:9-16.

He has things prepared just for you.  Think about that!

But you can't because of this problem you have or that problem?

What did Jesus say to Moses?

"The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?" Exodus 4:11.

If indeed you are saved in Christ Jesus...if indeed He is your Lord and Savior...then you are uniquely positioned to live, breathe and serve Him in whatever plans He has for you.

And it's for you to be doing. You to be living. You to be participating in those things of God divinely prepared for you. For those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

If all you do all you have done is only believe in God and nothing else, you need to be sure of your salvation first and foremost.  The demons believe in God and at least they shudder because of that truth.

Scripture says, to summarize, to bear fruit that shows our relationship with Jesus it right, real and true.

It's a sacrifice to get up so early every day for me.  But, I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Jesus meets me at this time and I get to do something that I love doing...which is writing...for Him.  But this isn't my only time in my Bible. I have time in my evenings that is for me to be in God's word. I have devotionals to read.  Jesus wants to show me things and I want to be shown.

Jesus wants to show you things. He knows that His Word creates questions. He will most likely show you the answers. Some questions cannot be answered this side of Heaven because they are 100% spiritually discerned. The physical mind and heart cannot understand them from a holy righteous perspective as exists in Heaven.

Our relationship with Jesus is only beginning in this life. We learn from each other and from the Spirit to become conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ.

When you carve out time for this or that...do you have non-negotiable times for Jesus?  Times that no matter what are for you and Him alone?  If not, why not?

We are commanded, not suggested, to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  The schemes of the devil include keeping you and I away from the Word of God. Keeping us away from others in Christ.  Listening more to the world than the Word of God. Listening even to governments over the Word of God.

Those who are in Christ are not of this world any longer.  We are Ambassadors for Jesus Christ.

Oh what awaits those who have their hearts set on Him!

Dr. David Jeremiah's devotional that I just started says "God says that first will be last and the last will be first. Let us remember that, in God's eyes those who serve faithfully are the most successful. God will do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine if we choose to let go of the world's agenda for recognition. With God we have access to divine potential."

Oh what the Spirit of God will do with one who is willing to live as He teaches and directs!

We cannot fathom the life that Jesus has prepared for those who are called according to His purpose in Christ Jesus!

Do more than wait for Jesus to return.

Do more than only believe in Jesus.

Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
