There IS GOING to be a Day
by David Brenneman
"and I am He who knows and am a witness,” declares the Lord.’ ”
Jeremiah 29:23d.
"While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return. And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business with this until I come back.’ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know what business they had done. The first appeared, saying, ‘Master, your mina has made ten minas more.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.’ The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, master, has made five minas.’ And he said to him also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ Another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ He said to him, ‘By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’ Then he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas already.’ ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.’ ” Luke 19:11-27.
There are those who erroneously believe that God, not Jesus, will look at all the good people have done and weigh it against the bad of their lives. That one will outweigh the other and they'll get into Heaven. Doesn't work like that.
Jesus said that all authority in Heaven and on Earth are His as given to Him by the Father.
The Bible says explicitly that by no other name under Heaven, given among men, must we be saved. The name of Jesus Christ.
There's no scales involved.
There are those who are saved in Christ Jesus and those who rejected Him for salvation. No middle ground. Once a person reaches the age of accountability that's it. They must choose whom they will follow and be master of their lives. Either Jesus or themselves.
The Bible isn't a fictional work.
It's many things but it's never that.
It's a love letter to mankind from Jesus.
It's an instruction manual for living life.
It's full of science fact about this universe.
It's pages contain true prophetic messages to mankind that have never been wrong.
Decades ago schoolhouses of the United States used to only use a hymnal and the Bible as their textbooks. Wandering away from this has panged this nation with many a grief. The notion of a separation between the Church and State is a fabricated lie. Our Constitution was modeled after elements from the Bible.
A day is quickly approaching. There are fewer and fewer prophecies left before the Rapture of the Church. So many claiming to be Christians aren't preparing for the instantaneous moment they will be face-to-face with Jesus. Likewise so many people are intentionally living life with no interest in the things of God. Wanting nothing to do with the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The last chapters of the book of Revelation speak of a Final Judgment. Jesus will separate all mankind from those who trusted in Him for salvation and those who did not. There's no court system. The opening passage we read is true of every single person who has ever lived. "and I am He who knows and am a witness,” declares the Lord.’ ”
Salvation is free. The lies the world speaks of concerning what will happen after people do come to Him to be saved are endless. You'll lose this, won't be able to do that. Must give up this, quit that. Start doing this.
My Dear Reader, until you trust Jesus to be the leader of your life and the forgiver of your sins, there is no way you will understand your life. Will there be things you give up? Sure, probably, but you'll willingly do so out of gratitude. Will there be new things that you'll be doing? Sure, only because of your new understanding that you'll want to do those things.
The Bible says clearly that the natural man, that is the unsaved man or woman, cannot understand the things of God because they are spiritually discerned. You have to have the Spirit of God in you in order to learn what those things are and what they mean to you and those in your world.
Time is running out. Both for the Believer to be living life as the Spirit directs for him or her as well as for the unbeliever who keeps pushing Jesus away.
A period of 7 years is coming that's so horrible and horrific that Jesus said if it weren't shortened nobody would survive it. It's a time of judgment to the inhabitants of the Earth. Biblically it's referred to as the 70th week of Daniel the prophet. People are up in arms over thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of people dying due to wars or famines disease or so-called natural disasters. Within those 7 years, billions of people will die. Do the math. We read that at one point 1/3rd of mankind dies. 8 billion in the world today. 2.6 billion die.
That's not taking into account the millions dying due to the aftereffects of the Rapture of the Church. The countless millions of vehicle accidents, airline accidents, military accidents, construction accidents, millions of children vanishing. These things are going to come upon this world. Every single prophesy of the Bible has come to pass. You'll do well to believe that all that remain will as well.
The Scriptures tell us all to be sure of our salvation in Christ Jesus.
The gift of salvation isn't like the sin that caused the need for a perfect sacrifice in Christ Jesus to atone for it. Everyone is born in sin. We all are in need of a Savior who is Christ Jesus the Lord.
In Romans chapter 10 we read of how easy it is to obtain this free gift of salvation "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
My Dear Reader, you have absolutely no guarantee you will survive this day. You can, however, have an absolute ironclad guarantee from Jesus that your life is saved in Him. Then whether you make it through this day or not you will find yourself in His Heaven. No doubts whatsoever.
Let today be that day that all Heaven celebrates your coming to Christ for salvation. The Bible says that its announced in Heaven when any do make that choice.
The Word of God also says to you that your eye has not seen nor has your ear ever heard all that He has prepared for you if you love Him.
An eternity of joy and peace with Jesus or an otherworldly pain that nobody this side of death has ever experienced in full separation from God. That's what's really at stake.
Consider it today, please, while there is still time.
