For Such A Time

‭‭‭‭"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10.

We who have come to Christ, came at the right time in human history to Christ for salvation...and to fulfill His purpose in human history.  

The more often that I read about the timing of the birth of Jesus, His ministry, His death burial and resurrection...the more God's timing of every aspect of human history blows my mind. 

Queen Esther was told by her Uncle Mordecai that very thing of her perhaps being prepared for such a time as this. 

"But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." Galatians 4:4-5.

There are no accidents nor mistakes with regard to when and where someone comes into this world.  It's human arrogance and arrogant presumption to believe that mankind has the power over life and death.  As Jesus said to His Pilate...he would have no authority over Him had it not been granted by His Father above. 

As someone wrote in the book "Sherlock Holmes and the Needles Eye", the exact timing of the birth of Christ, His ministry, death, burial and resurrection were perfect.  For after the resurrection, the sheer ability to take the message of the Gospel to the known world would have been inhibited.  It was the Roman Empire that created roads. They created all the interlinked cities that Peter, Paul and the surviving Apostles used to begin the spread of the Gospel message.

It was all God's timing.  Those people were born at such a time as that.

You, my Dear Reader, were born when you were, where you were, as you were all to fulfill your part in God's plan for yourself in Christ as well as God's plan for mankind. 

How awesome and astounding is that?  

Right down to your personality, your hair color, eye color, gender, weight and more are exactly what God said was needed in this here this now in human history to participate in the calling of God in His Church today. 

As I mentioned last night at our Life Group...Jesus has roughly 8 billion chess pieces on the board called Earth...all known to Him.  All these billions of chess pieces are in two games of chess at the same time. 

For the Believer it's their sanctification.  1 Thessalonians 4:3a. "This is the will of God for you...your sanctification"...and their works that He prepared beforehand that we might walk in them. There we go again with God's timing. 

These Believers are also to be living lives in such a way that people see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. Pointing people to Jesus for salvation. 

The unbelieving are also in play. 

The Spirit is always attempting to orient their lives towards Jesus until they either say yes to the free gift of salvation or their utter rejection sends them off the grid to their place in Hell.

Then there's the larger chess board. The one where mankind is headed towards the Final Judgment day of all mankind. 

We who are in Christ are to keep sharing with others the gospel message. We are to live obedient lives in Christ.  We are to do what we do as unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:23-24. Listening to the Spirit of God in Christ to live God honoring lives.

Nobody is unknown to Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  Nobody is forgotten in this world by Him.  Nobody will be without excuse when they stand before Jesus someday.  It reads "Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord".  Doesn't say anything about any exceptions. 

You aren't here to fulfill all your dreams and desires. You might be granted some by God in order to fulfill your ministry.  Yes, all who are in Christ have a ministry.  The Bible says clearly that the Spirit of God sets each person in the body of Christ as He sees fit.  If you're in Christ you have a purpose in the body of Christ that's for you to be doing in full obedience to Jesus. 

You might be granted some of your dreams and desires but that's not our purpose in life.  Great care must be taken to not be distracted from your calling in Christ Jesus.  

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and spirit. Love your neighbor as yourself.  Set your mind on the things that are above and not on the things that are of this world. Be holy as He is holy. Take up your own cross each and follow Him. Fulfill your ministry. 

Take a deep breath and then take a good look at yourself.  Are the things you're making important in your life aligned with the work of God in you?  We either hinder or hasten the day of the Lord by way of our obedience.

For such a time as this you are here.  Born at the perfect time to be of the greatest good for the work of the Spirit of God in Christ Jesus for His plan for you and for the human race. It's huge! It's an awesome, amazing, thought! Our identity is wrapped up in Christ Jesus. 

Pray on, pray over, pray through your day to be who Jesus wants and desires of you today.
