Are You Ready?
by David Brenneman
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour." Matthew 25:1-13.
"Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:3-9
How often have we read: "Be on the alert!" in many other places in the Scriptures?
How often have we been those who are forgetful concerning His return?
How much effort are you putting into preparing for the return of Jesus Christ for His Church?
Have we also just not read that admonition to be on the alert?
This world wants all to be too busy to notice the signs that Jesus said to look for. The world is doing its level best to dumb down people with drugs and stressing situations to keep the minds of people dull. Read the side effects of statins for yourself.
Our governments want you to let them do the thinking for you.
Our so-called entertainment industry is immersing the world into enjoying all the aspects of sin...all the while trying to subtly eroding Christianity.
An alert, fully aware, Christian is extremely dangerous to Satan and his minions.
I shared a story of a man visiting his doctor. The doctor's dog was in his adjoining office wanting to be with him. The man was asking about the afterlife. What to expect in dying. The doctor's response was about his dog's eagerness to come in where he was. "All I know...is on the other side my Master awaits and that's where I want to be".
My Dear Reader does the prospect of stepping into Heaven scare you or does it excite you?
Does the message of the Gospel repel you or frighten you?
Jesus will one day soon stand up to come in the clouds to receive to Himself His own. We read this in the book of Acts. The Angels testified to those facts.
Being in prayer, being truly honest with ourselves and Jesus is where it's at.
Being intentionally in our Bible, whether or not we understand it.
The Word of God can't grow you in Christ unless you take it in.
You and I will get no warning of when that moment will be when Jesus returns. The Bible says that in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, that fast. A nanosecond is longer than the twinkling of an eye.
You think you're going to "get right with God" in that infinitesimal moment of time?
With no caution, no warning, nothing to say it's happening?
The Bible says that the foolish say in their heart that there is no God.
Newsflash: There are no unbelieving in Hell. All there know why they are there. They don't agree with why they are in endless torment in Hell but there's no question that they know that there IS a God in Heaven and they are not changing their lives to get out of paying for their own sins.
There's videos a plenty of people dying without Jesus crying out concerning the pain of them slipping into Hell.
Are you ready for this coming day of the Lord Jesus Christ?
I have a file left on my computer at work. It's called "Where am I". It's left there on purpose because there's always the possibility of the Rapture happening while I am at work. It explains to people left behind what just happened and what to expect over the next 7 years.
Time spent in prayer time spent in God's word is never wasted. Even if it means a lack of sleep or not participating in something.
Jesus is wanting a true relationship with you and I. He's not up there with lightning bolts waiting to slay people in sin. He's not wanting anyone to reject Him. He's not willing that any should perish but that all would come to Him for salvation.
Are you really really ready?
Haven't been feeling the connection to Jesus lately? You're only one step away from His open arms.
Feel too dirty to come to Christ?
He will clean you up regardless of what you're feeling like. Come to Christ for salvation and He will wash you white as snow. He promised!
Take My Life and Let it Be
1874 Francis R. Havergal
Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
