Who's plans are you seeking this day?
Who's?
Are your desires in accordance with God's plans for you?
Are you at all attempting to move your feet along the path of life that you say you are trusting Jesus to guide you in?
Are you after the accolades of men and women? Are you after titles and positions? Are you more interested in success as the world sees it than how God views it?
The things you do in your life need to matter in the scheme of things as God sees them in order for them to add to that crown you're hoping to give back to Jesus someday.
Your possessions are not going to help in that regard. Proverbs 16:9...you have your thoughts as to what's right and true...and you will either stand and not move or you will move with or without considering God's plans for you.
We are not to seek what gains us the most in the world if it forces us to compromise our faith in Christ Jesus.
Degrees mean nothing in Heaven's realm.
Money means nothing as well. Consider that gold is the ground you walk on there. It's worthless.
What value do you place on what Jesus has said is to be the most important things in life? Do you think that only some of those things apply to you and not the rest? If ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness. That the man or woman of God will be adequate, equipped for every good work...what manner of person ought you to be?
Are you more afraid of losing your past that you hoard things? Are you more passionate about things that fade with time like sports or sports figures? Are you idolozing things or people and are in denial about that truth?
We cannot say we walk with Jesus Christ and still insist on our own way.
Our lives are hidden in Christ Jesus...we are to deny ourselves, take up our own cross and follow Him.
So what if you lose what this world holds dear in pursuing what God has in mind for you. Who cares if others do not understand it. What matters most is if you are certain it will have you in the center of God's will...you cannot lose.
Someone once said "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose".
Jesus said..."For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matthew 16:25.
We read of the depths of the sacrifices that those in the early Church made.
We would do well to learn how to let go of those things that we've justified having in our lives that really are between us and God. We put cars, houses, entertainment, vacations, clothes, technology, status among people on a pedestal and have Jesus off to one side.
Seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness becomes something way down the list of priorities. It's relegated to an afterthought.
In the quiet of your heart...really look at where Jesus really is in your life. Really look at whether you're entertaining idols in your life. Setting up shrines, for that's what "themed" rooms are if we recognize that we actually consider them as "holy".
Check your heart...are you truly following Jesus or are you wanting Him to follow you?
Your answer will determine your priorities.
