Your Days are Numbered...
by David Brenneman
It's a limited time offer. Salvation that is.
Have read many things of how people have portrayed various denials of salvation in my years on the planet.
One, was a woman during a heavy rain storm. She prayed and prayed for God to save her. As the waters were rising, a 4x4 truck saw her n offered to take her to safety. She refused, said God would save her. She kept praying for God to save her. The waters kept rising, a rescue boat saw her n offered to help her. She refused, said God would save her. She kept on praying. On her roof a helicopter saw her and wanted to pull her to safety. She waved them off, said that God would save her. The waters overtook her home and she died. Standing before Jesus she was upset. She said "I prayed and I prayed for you to save me and you didn't!"
Jesus replied, "My Child, I sent you a 4x4, a boat and a helicopter, what more did you need?".
The obvious signs of the need for salvation are all around us. It's not hard to miss when you read any headlines in any news service anywhere.
Denial of God doesn't mitigate the need.
Trusting in your own devices will never save you or anyone else.
Denying that a plane that has mechanical problems that is going down isn't going to make you survive the crash.
There are all kinds of denial in this world. From the mild day-to-day to the blatant who go as far as physically altering their bodies to become something that God didn't make them to be.
Christians who "support" such people doing such things might as well be called Satan's Escort Service to deliver such people to Hell rather than them being on God’s side.
Without salvation in Christ Jesus alone for the remission of sins, you will never see Him in any regard other than as your Judge. You will never see Jesus as your Savior.
We cannot afford to be silent nor can we afford to assist those who refuse the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ alone in their denial.
Nobody could silence Jesus in His work of being about the Father’s business.
We who are in Christ, are supposed to be the salt of the world, not the sugar, as I recently have read.
We aren't to be aiding and abetting the enemy of God. Telling people that you encourage them to be themselves makes you a liar towards God. You don't encourage a man who is drowning to breathe normally and ignore the water.
My Dear Reader, salvation in Christ Jesus is free. It's still available to all who would ask!
"But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:8-13 NASB
Jesus said that the Gospel message would be so easy that even a child would understand it...and it is!
I was a child when I came to understand the need of my sins to be forgiven and for Jesus to come into my life to be my Lord and Savior.
I would not be who I am today if it weren't for all that He's done in me and through me to become the man I am today.
Doing all kinds of "God stuff" will never replace the gift of salvation. You will never erase a single sin on your own.
Salvation is as near as the tip of your tongue. Go back to that passage from Romans. Don't be concerned about how "bad" you think you are, or those thoughts that God could never love someone like you. Jesus died once for all. From the least to the most heinous human beings He died once for all.
There is salvation in no one else. It's by the name of Jesus Christ that we must be saved.
I will never encourage another human being to be themselves and not stop a destructive life apart from God. Paul also wrote of not living a life of a practiced sin. A sin that is being intentionally made regardless of the consequences.
There's a limited time left, much as the woman in that story...to choose the offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. As long as you are breathing you can receive the free gift of salvation. It's as near to you as your next breath.
Soon this world will be facing the wrath of God as layed out in the book of Revelation and other parts of the Bible.
Soon, as Dr. David Jeremiah has recently called it "The Great Disappearance" is going to happen. Jesus will return as He said He will. Those who are saved in Christ Jesus will leave this world while those who did not will face 7 of the most horrific years the world has ever seen.
Let today be your day to settle things between you and Jesus.
Let today be your new birthday in Christ.
There will be a day where billions of people will wake up to find the Church of Jesus Christ gone from the world.
Do you want to be among those left behind or would you rather see Jesus?
It is promised in the Bible that you will either face Him as Judge or as Savior.
Which will it be?
