Many people try to look for secret messages in the Bible. Secret this and secret that. Here's a novel idea. Try just reading and applying what the Spirit has already began showing you.
When Jesus was asleep on the boat and His Disciples cried out because of the storm, essentially His reaction was: Don't you trust my Father's plans yet? Don't you trust Me yet? Don't you realize who it is you are with yet?
If we're honest with ourselves we will admit that we're not too far removed from the people of Jesus's day. We're waiting and wanting God to do something spectacular to deliver us from the plight of the world. We are looking for some ultimate blessing that means we're safe n secure in this life until its time to go home to Heaven.
If we read the Scriptures as we ought to, and not just the parts we like to read, we'll see a different picture of how life for the Believing is to be. We will see that troubles will likely find us. That stress will try to find its way into our hearts, that temptations will work on our minds.
Life isn't about our finding personal peace, security and happiness. It's to be a life lived in obedience to the Word of God. My greatest troubles are when I am not living in obedience to God's Word. My greatest struggles come when a shred of doubt is attempting to take root in me concerning Jesus being there. That somehow He’s either forgotten me or is too busy elsewhere with the lives of other people.
Understanding that as believers we ought to be trying our best to please the one who took our sins away and gave us the promise of an eternity with Him.
Living a Godly life is only possible in Christ Jesus. Trust and Obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. The old hymn has it right!
There has been many challenges to adapting and adjusting to life here in our new hometown. Significant bills have happened. Significant purchases had to be made. My former self that quite frankly was the me of the early fall of last year, would be panicking right now. I thank Jesus for forcing me through the storms to get to where I am today. My prayer life has gotten richer and I am hoping it grows deeper still. God has entrenched at least one thought within me: Trust Me and Go and Do whatever I put before you. I have endless resources and as long as you're doing what I need you to be doing, you'll be fine. Don't be concerned about the cost while your mind is set on me.
To break down the Great Commission and what the Spirit did in the beginning of the Church its simply: Trust Me, Now Go and Do. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and spirit. Love your neighbor as yourself. Put on the full armor of God. You're going to need it.
Worry and stress have no place in the heart of the Believer when Jesus is already there.
Worry and stress can show up when we take our eyes, our minds, off of Jesus.
You can’t live two lives. You can't please yourself before you decide to please God. That's never worked for anyone.
Romans 12 we read of the Spiritual Gifts that have been given by the Spirit to those who have come to Christ for salvation. We read in other books about the Church being the Bride of Christ. We read also that we are the body of Christ and each part of the body has something specific to be doing.
As a believer you need to be aware of those truths.
We will indeed be tempted to follow after our desires. Our thoughts can swiftly be selfish or self-centered in a heartbeat.
We too easily forget who we are and why we are still here after coming to Christ.
We lose sight of the future that Jesus said would be happening.
We lose sight of the truth of God’s Word concerning the future of mankind.
Jesus's message hasn't changed.
Trust Me, Now Go and Do. I'll always be with You.
Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Let your light so shine before men that they see your good works and glorify God in Heaven. Set your minds on the things that are above and not on the things that are on the Earth. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
It's been amazing to me that indeed God DOES give His best to those who leave the choice to Him.
We have seen many very timely blessings that can be explained no other way that because of seeking what He wants done and then doing it.
Look at your life, is it a reflection of obedience to God or to you?
Are you bound up by worrying and stress? Take those thoughts to Jesus in prayer and leave them with Jesus. We can't find the peace that passes all understanding until we are obeying God.
