“Now this is the inscription that was written:
‘Menē, Menē, Tekēl, Upharsin.’
This is the interpretation of the message: ‘Menē’—God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. ‘Tekēl’—you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. ‘Perēs’—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians. Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. That same night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was killed. So Darius the Mede received the kingdom at about the age of sixty-two."
Those who steadfastly reject the offer of salvation will all inevitably be cast into Hell.
As we also see in Scripture there comes a time of no return in the lives of some people in regards to a hardened heart. Hell will not even set them straight. The people gnashing their teeth at God, from Hell, are those people.
People today have an overwhelming abundance of knowledge and information, of resources to take that step towards God and to freely receive salvation in Christ Jesus alone.
Yet in this microwave society of literally the Bible at your fingertips in a few mere seconds, people mock God. They have this false sense of security that they have time to sew their wild oats. That they can live out lives by way of their wealth, with no regard to the truth. Truth being their very breath is in God's hands.
You read the last part of Daniel 5. The judgment against Belshazzar. Those who die without Christ are summarily judged guilty of their sin and are cast into Hell. My personal belief is that it is Jesus who takes people to Heaven as well as Hell. That's my opinion about the passage that says that they will look upon the one they have pierced. They will have absolutely no way to not know why they are being delivered to Hell. Just as true as Heaven welcoming those who believe.
You, my Dear Reader, have before you the truth.
You can in mere seconds read the truth of God. You can look up the Romans Road to Salvation. You can, but if you haven't, what's keeping you? You will have no worthy excuse before Jesus after you die. Heaven and Hell are just as real and unchangeable as knowing death comes to all things. You know and you must choose to accept the proven truth of God in that you must come to Christ to be saved.
It's not going to be nice to hear Jesus tell everyone who rejected Him that "You knew all this".
Being in a Church doesn't save you. Many so-called Churches hire janitorial services to clean during the week, that presence in the building won't save them any more than you going in and sitting down. You must realize that proximity to believers won't save you. Being warmed by a fire doesn't make you the fire. Enjoying the light doesn't make you the light. The light of Christ comes from within. In the first movie version of "Left Behind", an Assistant Pastor found himself left behind because he never understood the Scriptures and it never occurred to him until the Rapture that a working knowledge of the Bible didn't save him. It's confessing with your mouth, it's repentance, that Jesus Christ is Lord. It's receiving Him into your life as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You will never slip into Heaven by being near Christians.
"But I don't have the time!" Well, considering every breath you take is a gift of God, make the time to get right before Jesus now. You are not guaranteed a today, let alone a tomorrow. What makes you really believe you have the time to put it off?
You and everyone else will never be able to say "we didn't know".
For God so loved the world (YOU) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 has been perhaps the most prolific passage from the Bible to the world. You are the one so loved by God that He sent His Son to die for you. He died for you and as a result of His obedience, arose from the dead, making the way for all to be saved who trust in Christ for salvation.
Remember: Just like Belshazzar, you know all this.
