Are God's Priorities Important to You?

Are God's Priorities Important to You?

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:12

Author and evangelist Josh McDowell tells how he once wanted to purchase a new car. He had the car picked out and had settled on all the details. He knew he should pray about it first, so he began to pray. Every day, as he continued to pray, he began to sense that God was not giving him freedom to get the car. The more he prayed about it, the less important the car became until he finally prayed it right out of his life! What happened to Josh and his new car will happen anytime we look at the things of this life through eternity-colored glasses. Imagine what the object of your concern would look like if you could transport it to heaven and set it down in the midst of the glory of eternity. When we take our illness, our unemployment, our financial problems, our strained relationships, our fears and worries about the future—all the things that burden us in this life—and view them from God’s eternal perspective, we will see them as they truly are. And we do that through worshipful prayer. Take the things that concern you most into the presence of God. Through worship, you’ll see them in a whole new light.  - Dr. David Jeremiah Morning and Evening

I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

You, even You, are the Lord, and besides You there is no savior. There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Your Son will be called “Mighty God.” He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore You, Lord God, have highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name. I see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by Your grace, God, might taste death for everyone. As we children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same. Thank You, merciful and mighty God, for choosing Jesus to die on the cross for my sin, for by doing so, He defeated death and the devil.

PSALM 89:19; ISAIAH 43:11; 1 TIMOTHY 2:5; ACTS 4:12; ISAIAH 9:6; PHILIPPIANS 2:7–9; HEBREWS 2:9; HEBREWS 2:14 - Dr. David Jeremiah Life-Changing Moments with God

Life-Changing Moments happen to everyone who meets their Maker.
Priorities change when all the fluff of life is removed.
When reality is revealed by God, to borrow a phrase, it cannot be unseen. You cannot unsee it, you, my Dear Reader must act in accordance with it.

The world fights and wars to own everyone and everything in existence. Some nations plod along but behind the scenes are demons attempting to control. After all as the Bible says the "god of this world" still believes in a victory that the Bible also says will never happen.

We, as I have mentioned, are moving. In the midst of this story of that, somewhere, is a book in the making.  We have been forced to rationalize our possessions. To once and for all decide on keeping, donating or pitching.  To be honest it's emotionally draining!  So and so gave that to me or to my Wife.  You know the story.

But as I have also eluded to, I don't think God's done yet with that, at least for me.  It's one thing to downsize due to moving, it's quite another to remove things from my life and mind that the Spirit has been waiting for the opportunity to address in me.

Be not ignorant nor should we ignore the prodding of the Spirit of God. It's a very real very important aspect of growing up in Christ Jesus. We do NOT receive so great a salvation, by way of such a great Savior as Jesus Christ, in order to do as His chosen people, Israel, has done and live for ourselves.

We aren't saved in order to continue in life with our own priorities.

You DO realize that right?  Indeed God meant for Mankind to enjoy this world, but Mankind chose to defile it by sinning.  Remember what the Lord said to Adam, that by the sweat of his brow he would toil all the days of his life. Happiness would be something to work for.

We all, at some point, work towards retirement.  We work towards vacation time. We work towards a day or two off. We live in a "me" culture. One that's progressively pushing for freebies from the government that people have yet to understand come with strings.

In me, the last 20 years has seen many things happen that have altered my perceptions on what ought to be happening in my life.  I have been through several valleys of the shadow of death.  Been face to face with suicide in myself. Been to the brink of a nervous breakdown and back. Been through rejection by people who are supposed to be Pastors, called of God, and been turned away.  Been through career changes. Not knowing what I would be doing to support my Wife. I have been through so many painful Spiritual surgeries and struggles.  Some might look at it and see a whole lot of trouble and negativity. I see God's hands.

I am an alien in this world. My residence is in Heaven with my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Satan's been trying since day one of my receiving Salvation to destroy that which the Spirit placed there in my Soul and Spirit.  To wrap my arms around this world is honestly to turn away from my Savior.  Yes He shows me things to enjoy in this world, but I am only visiting.

Do you take God's, the Father's business personally?  If you are indeed saved, His business is your business.  When Jesus spoke of sending workers into His harvest, He was speaking of you and I, if indeed we are saved.

Interesting to me is the propensity of the world to push everyone to be leaders. Yet the Bible says there's but one, Christ Jesus. We, according to the Bible, are parts of the body of Christ. We are called not to be leaders, nor to seek that out, but are taught to serve and to be about the Father's business, that is, to do our part in the body of Christ.

Cells in a body that aren't working PROPERLY or WITH the body, that mimic bodily functions are called cancers, viruses, etc. Everything in the body that is part of the body of Christ is there for a reason. In this moment of time all believers have a part of God's plan for the ages.

Again, are God's Priorities Important to You?  Are you spending your time wisely?
Are you at all obedient in prayers, thoughts and desires?

Satan is a professional at enticing people to live for self and disguising it as many things.
It can be movies, sports, politics, religion, television, the internet, natural causes, international affairs, health, wealth, prosperity, hobbies, anything and everything in this world can be used to misdirect anyone who claims to be a Christian.

You who aren't saved will be enticed to believe you aren't all that bad. That you look at your life and see only good things.  That there's no way God would have anything against you.  More lies of Satan.  The Bible says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
You could live a hundred years, be the most gifted, giving, generous person ever, and still will be sentenced to Hell.  You have still sin that must be dealt with, because the Bible still says "the wages of sin is death". Born in sin that you cannot escape apart from salvation in Christ Jesus alone, you will inevitably end up paying for your own sin.

God's not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to Jesus Christ for salvation.

That's the Father's business.

My priorities in what I am going to own going forward in life, what I will spend my life doing, are changing. What I will spend my time, energy and money on are changing.

We made it a priority to seek out God's Will for us in October.  1 Thessalonians 4:3a "For this is the will of God, your sanctification;"

It's been a rough road. A bumpy road.  Priorities have been radically changing.  Things that we had thought about bringing along have fallen by the wayside.  To be aligned with the Will of God, our sanctification, is going to mean that. It's one of God’s Priorities for believers.
