The Beliefs of the Founding Father's, Their Dependence Should be Ours
Lord God, You who are rich in mercy, because of Your great love with which You loved me, even when I was dead in trespasses, made me alive with Christ (by grace I have been saved), and raised me up and made me sit in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come You might show the exceeding riches of Your grace in Your kindness toward me in Christ Jesus. You, Lord God, so loved the world that You gave Your only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. You who did not spare Your own Son, but delivered Him up for me, how shall You not with Him also freely give me all things? You, Lord, are good to all, and Your tender mercies are over all Your works. I love You because You first loved me. Blessed am I who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which You told me, Lord God. Your amazing love and grace truly defy description, Lord God. Thank You for loving me.

Much always gets said around the 4th of July of quotes, both in context and outside of it concerning the words of the Founding Father's of the United States.
The Declaration of Independence in its opening words is indeed a Declaration of many things but the most important is recognition of our Creator.
This prayer likely sums up much, if not all of what the non-believers in schools and government wish to hide about the moral standards that began our nation.
There was indeed the effort at our nation's beginning to establish the reliance upon God in the affairs of government. That it was the relationships of our leaders that they had in God that they wanted the government to be influenced by. This gives way to the truth concerning the so-called separation of church and state. The truth being a one directional wall. One that fully permits the relationship of its members to influence government, but restricts government from influencing the Church.
If they could be heard today in Congress, our founding Father's would be enraged at what government has become. That there is such blatant opposition to God from the very floor that established the need for God IN government. The mural in the ceiling that shows the Ten Commandments isn't just there for astetics. They wanted future leaders to look up and be reminded that they needed God's guidance in order to do what was necessary.
The rage in society today is really over morality. It's over how to get what isn't deserved or warranted by people who have been taught wrong about life.
If indeed this nation would return to God, as in the deep rooted beliefs of its founder's, this nation would not know what to do with the peace and prosperity that would come. All too many would find excuses as to how it came about.
Very shortly Jesus Christ is returning.
After the horrific 7 years that the Bible says will happen in the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ Himself will establish His rule on Earth for 1,000 years. There will be indeed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There will be no lawyers. No politicians. No need for them. There will no longer be news agencies like today that think it's their job to tell you what to think. People will be seeking those who have a relationship with Jesus. There will be no real need for many professions.
Our dependence upon Christ is at the core of our liberty from sin. Satan's using everything he can get permitted to do in order to sway the masses away from a right relationship with Jesus.
Our Constitution itself is written in such a way that mirrors much of what the Bible says on morality and right living. John Adam's said "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other."
He wasn't necessarily a Founding Father, but he is attributed as saying "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” Patrick Henry.
We have both great cause to celebrate Independence Day. But with all the enemies within our country we have even greater need to pray for our government. By the grace of God it's outlasted many nations in world history. Only through the grace of God will it remain there.
Pray for our nation to return to what it's founder's knew to be true. You must have leaders who value a right relationship with Jesus in order to properly lead the nation.
I often pray for the salvation of Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Harris and others in Congress. In the Gospels Jesus said you would know people by their fruits. All too many show none of the fruit of those who are saved in Christ Jesus. They oppose God's truth. They are certainly showing the world whose children they are and it isn't God. Peter made a Declaration of Dependence in book of Acts. Joshua made a Declaration of Dependence in the final chapter of his Old Testament book too.
Acts 5:27-32 "When they had brought them, they had them stand before the Council. The high priest interrogated them, saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this Man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you put to death by hanging Him on a cross. He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
Joshua 24:14-15 "“Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and do away with the gods which your fathers served beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”"
Do you declare your dependence upon Christ today, or are you still living life your way?
Are you at all praying for our nation, or do you just shake your head and go your own way?
Dependence upon Christ isn't solely something for the people of the United States.
In Christ all who believe must depend upon Christ, through the Holy Spirit, to live a life that imparts what today's opening prayer is about.
