He came for You
Jesus said that His purpose for coming into the world was to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). It is at this point that Christianity is separate from all other religions of the world. Christianity is God searching for man. Christianity is the Shepherd looking for the sheep. How different it is! And how blessed we are to be part of it! And how glad we are that Jesus didn’t work on the basis of percentages. The shepherd had 99 percent of his flock safely at home. A modern businessman might have figured that the cost of finding the one wasn’t worth the value of the sheep. Take your losses and move on, he might have thought. Yet the shepherd left the ninety-nine and went to find the one. The woman who lost the coin had 90 percent of her wealth. But the man with the lost son had only 50 percent of his. With God, the percentages don’t matter, for every single one is important and worth finding. - Dr. David Jeremiah Morning and Evening
It is indeed an often difficult thing to grasp, that Jesus would leave perfection in Heaven, that He would leave to come to Earth. To enter as a baby. To live, restrained, among men and women. To willingly be beaten, tortured, nailed to a cross. All out of love and obedience. He came to seek and save the lost. He came for you, and certainly for me.
Until my eyes were opened I wasn't aware that I was lost. Until you or others have your eyes opened you won't realize you are or were lost. Nobody is aware of dangers in a dark room until a light is introduced.
All the world's religions are man's attempts to reach God or to become like God. All are wrought in the sinfulness of Satan's schemes. Only Christianity teaches of God, in the person of Jesus, came to mankind to save them.
To say you don't need saving is certainly an arrogant presumption. You lay down very very deep self righteous thoughts. Claiming that you are good enough. That your achievements are more than adequate. That you don't deserve death. That there is nothing within you deserving of the wrath of God. Yet, in all who have come before us all either went to Heaven or to Hell based solely and entirely upon the Word of God.
If you were the one one on the Earth, Jesus still would have sacrificed Himself to save you. Noah was the only one in his family who was worthy for to be considered righteous. Not his wife, not his 3 sons nor their wives. It's solely by grace and mercy were the rest of his family spared.
You, my friend are far more precious in the sight of God than you can possibly be aware of. Yet in our world we devalue life. We destroy it daily in the womb through abortions. We devalue it in calling it other things. We devalue it in refusing to refer to male and female as God defined. We devalue life in forcing the human body to be mostly physically changed from one gender to another through drugs and surgery. We tell God, our world does, that YOU HAD TO HAVE MADE A MISTAKE!
God cannot nor will He ever make a mistake.
You can be lost in vast mountains of any place on this planet and Jesus would know exactly where you were and would still come to you.
You are that important to Him. You may not think so. You may not even think you are worth anything. You may go as far as to despise yourself or your life. Jesus would still welcome you into His family.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Put your name in where it says world. Put yourself in where it says whosoever.
Salvation is free. No strings. Nothing to fear by receiving it. In fact to let go of this world and the darkness you will find life and the light.
My friend, Jesus loves you and is waiting with open arms for you.
But what about all that I have done! Once you come to Christ, asking Him to forgive you and save you, He remembers those things no more. Slate is wiped clean. The sin of your past is not seen again. The consequences of it may yet be lived through, but in that you won't be alone in it. You then can come to Christ daily to be made clean by asking for forgiveness in prayer. We will as long as we breathe air continue to sin. So don't think it all ends at once by coming to Christ. But the Grace of God, grace being unmerited favor, is poured out upon you and I by His doing. Because you are His.
Don't miss out on what life can really be for you. Quit trusting in your deeds to be good enough to get into Heaven. It won't work. Read about the final judgment in Revelation. Everyone there was judged by the things they did and all ended up in the Lake of Fire. All because they had not come to Christ to be saved their names were not in the all important Book of Life.
Are you tired of running? Tired of living in fear because you feel so all alone in this crowded world? It's time to stop running and come to the one who's waiting to run to you. Jesus is waiting for you.
