This is the voice of unchangeable truth. In none of the Jewish ceremonies were sins removed without the shedding of blood. In no case, by no means, can sin be pardoned without the reconciling work of Jesus Christ. It is clear, then, that there is no hope for me outside of Christ—for there is no other shedding of blood even worth considering as an atonement for sin. Am I, then, believing in Him? Is the blood of His atonement truly applied to my soul? All people are on the same level as to their need of Him. We may be the most moral, generous, friendly, or patriotic people ever—but the rule will not be altered to make an exception for us. Sin will yield to nothing less than the blood of Jesus, who God put forth as a sacrifice of atonement. What a blessing that there is this one way of pardon! Why should we seek another? People who practice a ritual religion cannot understand how we can rejoice that all our sins have been forgiven for Christ’s sake. Their work and prayer and ceremonies give them very poor comfort, and they should be uneasy—they are neglecting the one great salvation and trying to gain forgiveness without blood. Sit down, my soul, and observe that the justice of God is bound to punish sin. See that punishment executed upon the Lord Jesus, and fall down in humble joy, kissing the dear feet of the one whose blood made atonement for you. When our conscience seeks comfort, it is vain to look to feelings and evidences; this is a habit we learned in the “Egypt” of our bondage to the law. The only cure for a guilty conscience is the sight of Jesus suffering on the cross. The Levitical law said life was in the blood (see Leviticus 17:14)—rest assured that it is the life of faith and joy and every other holy grace. We don't have to look far to see people say they have the answer to life. They can show the way to prosperity and health. To a life lived without worries. Waste waste waste. You CAN follow what they say, but without Christ you have nothing!
You cannot survive what comes after death without the shed blood of Jesus Christ covering your sins.
Oh this world will try to convince you differently. Will try to bury the truth. There are countless stories of people on their deathbed crying out in pain as they slip into Hell yet refuse to ask Jesus to save them.
They prove, in their dying testimony, the reality that Jesus said happens down there!
Yet people refuse to believe. Hate to break it to you my friend, but Scripture says EVERY knee shall bow, EVERY tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
Let's look deeper. Look at what Jesus described of Hell. There's nobody there who doesn't acknowledge that it's real.
There's no party going on. No pleasures aplenty for all to enjoy. There's no celebration. There is pain, there's torment. Exactly what people today describe as they hold onto their denial of needing Christ.
If you believe that you are going to a paradise once you die and do not have Salvation in Christ Jesus alone, you are lying to yourself. That's the lie of Satan.
Everyone needs the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Everyone. I needed it. You need it.
Sin required a perfect sacrifice. The only perfect being who could possibly wipe out the penalty of sin was Jesus Himself, the very one who made the penalty of sin in judgment upon Adam and Eve. The Judge became the Pardon.
You still have time, my friend, if you are able to read this. Stop living a lie and come to Christ to start living life. Look up Romans Road on here. See what you need to see, not what you want to see.
This world has a short time left to it before Jesus returns and the free offer of Salvation is taken away before Judgment begins as it says in the book of Revelation. People will be saved throughout that time but the price will be incalculably high. Don't delay please don't.
Jesus is at the door of your heart, knocking gently. Asking you to let Him in.
